When I worked in the floral department at a local grocery store, I ordered a bear paw fern to sell. Unfortunately, it didn’t do so well. But before I shrunk it out, I took rhizome cuttings in an effort to propagate it.

…okay I felt bad that I had to throw it out just because it looked a little rough around the edges. Just one more thing that annoyed me about that place.

And now the furry little feet are growing!

Planted a tray full of seeds last Thursday. This is what has come up so far.

Those morning glories are growing like crazy.

No sign of the peppers or tomatoes yet, or any of the herbs but the oregano.

NOSTALGIAAAA there’s also ones in yokohama and osaka and uhhh uhhh saporo? i forget, somewhere up north. also the area most affected by the quake just got one built for it. bitches dont know bout my life as a pokemon trainer. Spent me some quality time at the Sapporo center. :3 …not a very big place, though.

The cool folks at Adagio have been kind enough to help out with a giveaway for a complete collection of the Sherlock Tea blends. That is 11 bags of different tea featuring art work by yours truly. That’s about 50 servings in each bag. More if you re-steep your tea (which is possible with most of them). That is a LOT of tea. How bonkers is that? Very. It’s awesome. Let’s see how this goes…

I picked up a bunch of seeds and bulbs today—I’m going to try planting a garden this year. An actual garden! Well, a lot of it I’m going to try putting in containers so I can take them when I move, but same idea.

Between two stores, I picked up these, all Burpee seeds.

- Spinach, Space Hybrid
- Lettuce, Forellenschluss (Austrian heirloom) and Rouge d’Hiver
- Peppers, Big Dipper (sweet peppers, ‘cause…well, I don’t normally like peppers very much. XD I’ll use them in chili though. And perhaps homemade salsa!)
- Beans, Fantastic Filet
- Tomatoes, Brandywine Pink
- Rosemary
- Oregano
- Genovese Basil
- Sweet Marjoram
- Morning Glory, Grandpa Ott (my grandpa! ♥)

And then at another stop off to try and find a smallish pot for one of my new plants, I found asparagus bulbs and a a cayenne pepper ‘grow kit’. We’ll see how those do. I’m planning on planting everything but the tomatoes and probably the morning glories in containers.

I also got a few potted plants today. A Calathea, a Philodendron, and an I-am-not-entirely-sure-what-you-are. Poor Phil is so rootbound I ache for him. :C He’s getting repotted as soon as I can pick up a bag of potting soil and some fertilizer.
